Product Notes for Shingler

The Current Version is 2.0 for the Mac and 1.0 for the PC

For the Mac:
When the file is unzipped... there are 2 files.
Read Me.txt
and
Shingler

The first time the program is launched it creates an additional file.
Shingler2.plist in the User>Library>Preferences Folder

Current features requested by users and where they stand.
The ability to generate a list of creep amounts for each page... in case anyone
needs to tweek an individual page - Eventually.

If you are upgrading from version 1.5 and manually added custom papers to
your Shingler.plist file here is what you need to do to transfer them to the
latest version.
1) Launch the new application... This will create a Shingler2.plist file.
It will not overwrite the original file.
2) Shut down the application.
3) Open the original Shingler.plist file mentioned above with a
text editor such as BB edit or textedit.app which comes free with the Mac OS.
4) Copy any new papers and their thicknesses from the old file.
5) Open the new preferences, Shingler2.plist with the text editor.
6) Paste the lines you copied from the original file into the new file at the
end... maintaining the same format.
7) In line one of the file you will see a number... this is the number of
papers in your list minus 1 (internally the system starts with zero)... Change
the number by the number of papers you are adding. If the number is 15 and you
add 3 paper types thean change the number to 18.
8) Do not delete the next 3 lines... which contain the number 1, Custom Paper
and a blank line... or things won't work.

If for some reason... you fail misrebly on the editing of the plist file...
delete it... it will be recreated with the default setting upon relaunching
Shingler.
